La Casa Grande Colectiva has been a housing cooperative in Urbana, Illinois since the early 1970s. Seven people share a big old house — cooking together, keeping a garden, and making decisions by consensus every other Wednesday.
A new version of this site is on the way, with a proper introduction to the house, our history, and how to inquire about a room.
