Jesus Candles

These cheap, unscented candles make great lighting for dinner time. The Jesus one was received from Mexico from a friend. St. Joseph and La Virgen de Guadalupe were found at Schnucks, a grocery store nearby.
Last week Jacob came back from a week long trip to Olympia, WA. I celebrated his return by straightening his hair.

Today was a rather cloudy and cold day. So I had some 4 o’clock mimosas with friends and then biked over to join JP, Drew and Jacob for some “frolf,” as some like to call it. (frisbee golf or disc golf). There is an amazing mulberry tree on the far end of the course which I can’t wait to devour berries from in the summer time. Check out my friend Brad’s photos of purple fingers and a green frolf course.

Shenanigans!!
Vodpod videos no longer available.
The chickens have been very feisty lately. Enjoying the weather and chicken dancing* away their days. Here is a little video JP took of me. Whenever you come outside the chickens tend to run up to you, expecting to be fed compost. They love it.
If you want to see some more chickens running, then check out my other video here.
*what has been dubbed the chicken dance is: scratch at dirt with feet, back away, look at dirt, peck, repeat.
Last Friday was a beautiful day. After a day at work I came home to find housemates and friends working in the garden.

Drew, Rob and JP clearing out bamboo to make room for fresh beds.

The chickens were out pecking for worms and enjoying the nice weather.

Sophie was really excited about the chickens.

The bamboo was burned.

And the resulting fire was strangely beautiful.

Just another day at La Casa.
